Strong Beats Steady Pulse Smooth Rhythm

Hey LBP friends and family-
just a short note to let you all know that Coy recieved a 29 year old heart on Sunday night. He had some complications at first, but things are looking up now. He has been strongly sedated since Sunday, so today was really the first day that he was awake enough to talk. He is in the CVICU at Methodist right now but should be headed to the transplant floor tommorrow. His new heart is working very well on its own, but it has taken a lot of strong will and determination for him to wake up. All who know Coy know that he does everything 200%, and that is how he is handling this. His kidneys are failing right now- a side effect of his having been on the heart lung machine for too long due to complications. They expect his kidney function to return in the next couple of weeks. He has been on dialysis for this, but they are giving him a two day dialysis vacation that started today. The nurses say he is "such a treat", as he is a little wild from all the sedatives. We sincerely appreciate everyones well wishes during a hard time. He is going to come out on the other side of this a much stronger healthier "Cory- 10 feet tall."
If anyone would like to continue to recieve health updates on Coy, email me at NDSomeday@gmail.com and I will add you to my list.
As Coy would say...
Thanx for your support,
Lindsay (Coy's wife)
